***Homeless Animals Need
Your Help***
Click
here to learn more about
volunteer opportunities, fundraising projects and other ways you can
help make a difference in the lives of homeless companion animals in our
community.
And how you can welcome one of these special animals
into your heart and home.
Volunteer your time to help homeless animals
Not quite ready to commit to pet ownership, but enjoy the companionship of
a furred or feathered friend? Why not volunteer at one of our
local rescue organizations or the
animal shelter. The rewards are endless and your help is greatly appreciated by
the staff and the animals.
Foster a Pet
Foster homes are needed to help free up kennel space at our local shelter and
rescue organization's facilities. It's also a great way to get to know an animal before you
commit to giving it a permanent home. Food, supplies and veterinary care are
provided by the organization's foster program in most cases.

What
to do if your pet is poisoned
(ASPCA)
Is your pet wearing an id tag? Is he
microchipped?
These could be his ticket home if he's ever lost, please make sure
your dogs and cats are wearing some sort of identification at all
times:
1) A well-fitted collar with identification tag
The id tag should include phone numbers (home and cell) where you
can be reached during daytime and evening hours. The pet's name and your
address may also be included.
2) A microchip
This rice grain-sized "chip" can be quickly and painlessly inserted
under your pet's skin by your veterinarian and serves as a backup incase
the pet's collar becomes lost.
3) A rabies vaccination (license) tag
Owner contact information can be obtained at any local veterinary
clinic by tracking the registration number on the rabies vaccination
(license) tag. Local law requires that all dogs and cats, four months of
age or older, shall be vaccinated against rabies by a licensed
veterinarian and that the rabies vaccination (license) tag be worn at
all times.
PLEASE
place an ID tag on your pet's collar and have them microchipped! We are seeing
an increased number of lost pets being found without ID. Without this
information, they may never be able to be returned to their home...
