Pet Resources for Seniors

Scientific research is increasingly showing that seniors with pets benefit emotionally and physically. Among the proven benefits are increased physical activity, improved social skills, reduced stress, and lower blood pressure. Below are some excellent resources for seniors in our area that either own a pet, are considering adopting a pet, or would like to volunteer their time helping animals in our community.

        Provides assistance with pet adoption fees for those age 60 and up

        "Preferred Pet Program"
        Provides pet matching services for those looking to adopt a specific breed, size, color, etc.

Vouchers for free spay/neuter surgeries
The Animal Services Center will provide vouchers for free spay/neuter surgeries through TREATS, their shelter support organization.

"Pet Wish List"
The Animal Service Center provides a "Pet Wish List" for those looking to adopt a specific breed, size, color, etc. An adoption application must be turned in with the wish list request.

Volunteer Opportunities
